Seat Leon Cupra sets Nurburgring record: (Video)

The Seat Leon Cupra 280 is the new FWD king of the Ring.

It’s not going to threaten the Porsche 918 Spyder of McLaren P1 at the top of the Nurburgring leader board, but the Seat Leon Cupra 280 has beaten the Nurburgring record for a front-wheel drive car, and done so in less than 8 minutes.

Earlier this year we showed you the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge, which debuted in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show.  We speculated the drivetrain to be a twin-turbo V8, possibly sourced from Mercedes-Benz, with power outputs over 373kW and 814Nm high.  Now, we’re one step closer to finding out.
