We’ve seen allegedly leaked renders, we’ve seen an official teaser from Renault Sport, but now we have the first genuine leaked photo of an undisguised 2017 Renault Megane RS! The low quality image, posted by Facebook page Ferd, shows the rear of what is undoubtedly the 2017 Renault Megane RS in its signature Liquid Yellow paint scheme, large rear diffuser, and centrally mounted exhaust outlet.
Whilst we don’t know much about the 2017 Renault Megane RS, it is believed the model will feature a new 2.0-litre turbo engine with outputs in excess of 221kW driving the front wheels through either the option of a 6-speed manual gearbox or a dual-clutch automatic. Despite being FWD only, the Megane RS will feature rear wheel steering – likely in a bid to help reclaim its title as the fastest FWD car on the Nurburgring, a title recently claimed again by Honda.
Expect much trickery in the way of limited slip differentials to put the power down.
